I'm back.....!

Wow! After a 6 month break- it is time to catch up and continue the blogging! I've been such a bum over the last 6 months, I could give a few excuses like: we were really busy with the end of the school year last year and then the craziness of summer set in and then I got pregnant and was feeling kinda yucky and then school started up again or I could just admit that I was being lazy and didn't prioritize blogging.  However, looking through old posts and reading friend's blogs, I'm disappointed that there will be a giant 6 month hole in my blogging.  Oh well. I'm going to attempt to make this up by providing a video montage of pictures and video clips to try to capture all that happened-stay tuned for a future post.

Hiking in the woods- looking for "big deer" of course!
Sitting proudly on the front step with his pumpkins.
Let's see... so much has gone on since last April.  We no longer have a baby in our household, we have a full-on toddler! It's so crazy looking back at old photos and realizing how quickly he has changed from a pudgy, rolly-polly baby who giggled and smiled all the time to a determined, talking, running toddler who loves to be independent!  We are loving this stage just as we have all the others.  Like the others, there are the strengths and the struggles.  18 months is very fun because he loves to play, be chased, show you things, mimic everything we are saying, watch Mickey Mouse, read books, sing songs, and so much more.  On the flip side, he has a new found opinion over many things- what he eats, what he wears, where he's going and when things don't go his way, he makes his unhappiness quite clear.  The beauty of a toddler is that they're easily distracted.  We usually can get him to snap out of this just as quick as he snapped in.  Tucker amuses and entertains us daily, I couldn't even imagine a single day without him in it!

Enjoying Gramma Lauri's apple pie!
Wearing his favorite hat (a plastic flower pot) in the backyard.
Doing what boys do best- getting dirty!

"Swimming" in the bath tub. He's very proud of himself when he does this.
The next big change at home, is baby #2- due March 7th!  I've been feeling much better since the nausea of the 1st trimester ended (fortunately this was right when school started- praise the Lord!).  Although this last week, my back started to really hurt.  I do remember having a sore back with Tucker but definitely not this early.  I'm thinking it's probably due to the fact that I'm now chasing around and lifting a toddler.  All in all, I can't complain too much because I'm feeling pretty good.  We have our 20 week ultrasound this week and plan on not finding out the sex of the baby.  Jared is 100% sure it's a boy, but I'm thinking girl.  Being pregnant the 2nd time around is so different.  You definitely don't spend nearly the same amount of time thinking through everything about the baby and what they'll sleep in or what their room will look like or what their name will be.  We will be very lucky if by March the spare bedroom is cleared out, the trim is painted (the 1 room in the entire house that for some reason never got the trim painted!), and there are clean clothes ready to go.  We do have a while to work on it, but I have a feeling it will come quicker than we expect!  I'm definitely growing and probably a bit bigger than I was the first time around at this point.  Because the baby and Tucker will have very close birthdays (he's the 24th), the timing of everything in this pregnancy is very similar which is very fun because I can remember how I felt and what I was wearing this same time of the pregnancy when I was pregnant with Tucker.  I definitely haven't been taking many pictures (only 1 so far) and I'm not sure I'll take many more.  It's still just as exciting and fun to talk about with Tucker.  Whenever I point to my belly and say baby, he lifts his shirt and does the same.  He definitely doesn't get it, but he really likes his baby cousin and other babies he is around which is a good thing.  I'm thinking because he won't even be two yet, he won't even remember what life was like pre-baby.  We will see! :)

18 weeks down!
