Arizona!

Tucker and I went to Arizona to visit my parents over my spring break.  It was a trip I had been nervous about for a while.  It was the first time Tucker would go on a plane and I was worried how all the traveling would go without having anyone else with me.  He did pretty well!  He didn't sleep a wink on the way there and was very curious and interested in everything on the plane especially the people around us.  The worst part was when he flipped the tray table up of the girl next to me and sent her water flying all over her as she was sleeping- fortunately she was understanding.  It was a long day of travel and we were both exhausted when we arrived but I was very thankful to get to Arizona and happy to relax in the warm sunshine!

This was Tucker the first night- he was really slap happy and loved playing on the bed with the "woof-woof."

Outdoor lunch!

We spent lots of time in the pool.  My parents turned the temp to 95 in their hot tub and Tucker loved floating around in the pool.

One morning when Tucker and I were up early, we spotted some javelina on my parent's driveway.  They are very interesting and stinky animals that love to eat my mom's flowers!

We had fun visiting the zoo in Tucson.

Definitely one of the highlights of the trip was when Uncle Donnie and Uncle Jeremy came! The last time Donnie saw Tucker was in August and Jeremy and Tucker hadn't met yet.  We loved being with them!

We were still able to visit one of our Tucson favorites- El Charro!

Ahhhh... I enjoyed soaking up the rays when Tucker napped!

Our 1 year old!

Stats:
Weight: 24 lbs. 2 oz. (70%)

Height: 30.5" (74%)

Head Circumference: 47.2 cm. (74%)

Clothes: 18-24 months

Diaper: Size 5

Teeth: 2 top, 3 bottom

Overall health:
The day before his first birthday, Tucker got a little stomach bug (or so I think).  He had diarrhea and was really uninterested in eating.  This made him kinda cranky and clingy to me all weekend.  I finally got some probiotic pills and put them in his yogurt and he seems much better today!  The doctor said it was probably a virus and could take 10 days to go away.  I'm happy that he's feeling better and eating more today!  Other than that, he's been overall very healthy!

Eating:
Tucker's favorite foods include: cheese, strawberries, avocado, yogurt, cottage cheese, and bananas.  These are basic staples in his diet.  He's a good eater but not as crazy about food as he used to be.  He definitely lets us know when he's all done eating.

He's down to nursing in the morning and before bed.  He's doing pretty well with that however he's really not into drinking milk from a sippy cup.  He'll drink water from the cup, but prefers milk from the bottle.  The doctor told me not to stress about it.  His bottles are still breast milk but we've been mixing in whole milk (he's not a huge fan of just milk yet).  I think we'll work on cutting out the bottles and transitioning to sippy cups but if he doesn't do this until the summer, I'm ok with it.

Sleeping:
Tucker goes to bed around 7 every night.  The nights we keep him up later, we find that he actually sleeps worse.  However, he's been waking up at 3 a.m. and wants to eat to go back to sleep, so we're working on pushing through this (lots of tears and lots of awake time for us).  He still likes to get up early-usually around 6.  He takes 1 nap- usually for 2+ hours in the afternoon.

Development:
It is crazy how quickly he is learning new things every single day.  He understands more and more words and is starting to point at things and mimic more and more sounds.  He moos at cows, "woofs" at dogs, sings (the Itsy Bitsy Spider is his favorite-he does the motions), blows kisses and he's almost walking!  Grandma Jane was able to witness his first step. We're pretty sure he is able to walk, but he isn't too interested in it. He's a speed crawler and isn't as confident when walking so he automatically goes down to crawling.  His balance is better and better and we think he'll be cruising on his own pretty soon!

Play:
Tucker still loves books and has developed a major love for being outside.  We've been having amazing weather and he's gotten very used to being out on our driveway, riding in the stroller, swinging at the park, or rolling a ball around the backyard.

Happy 1st Birthday, Tucker!

So old!

Tucker turned 1 on Saturday!  We had  a very fun little farm-themed party at our house.  Tucker very appropriately wore his overalls for the event.  I was very thankful to have my parents come for the weekend.  I definitely don't think I could have pulled it off without their help, especially my mom's help in the kitchen!  We had about 20 adults and 6 kids.  Tucker is very loved and we loved having family and friends here to celebrate this big day!

We were excited that the rain held off so we could play outside for a while!

Tucker received some awesome new toys, books, and clothes!

Cake!

Tucker enjoyed licking the icing off the cow cake topper, but wasn't too interested in his chocolate cupcake.
