Tucker's 1st Christmas!

Tucker turned 9 months old on Christmas Eve and loved celebrating the holidays with family.  We started on the 23rd by celebrating with Jared's whole family.  It was a really fun night! Delicious food, lots of laughs, fun presents, and wonderful family.  The kids were great and loved ripping into the gifts.  This Christmas was much different from last year's (the babies doubled from 2-4) and we all know that next year will be even crazier with 5 babies and 4 on the run! Here are some photos from the night:

We left on Christmas Eve morning to go to my parent's house in Minocqua.  My aunt, uncle and cousins joined us  for the weekend which was fun for Tucker as he got the undivided attention of many!  He even went for his first sled ride in the snow through the golf course!

We are so blessed to have family nearby for the holidays and for the many people who love Tucker!

Halloween weekend!

Jared and I were off of school the Thursday and Friday before Halloween.  We had quality family time on Thursday hanging out, going for a walk, and Jared and I were even able to sneak in a date on Wednesday night (thanks to Aunt Emma for babysiting!)  Then on Friday afternoon, Tucker and I headed to Milwaukee to pick my dear friend, Emily, up from the airport and Jared headed with the YoungLife group to a fall weekend trip in Lake Geneva.

I had so much fun catching up with my dear friend, Emily and Tucker loved getting to meet his "aunt" E for the first time! We walked to the farmer's market and then went to my school where Emily helped make some cute bulletin boards for me.  That night we went to Jared's sister's Halloween party.  Tucker was a monkey, Emily was a basket of dirty laundry and I was "static cling."

Our little monkey:
Probably my favorite part of this night was attempting to get a photo of all the kids in their costumes on the couch:
Tucker, his cousin, Lucas (aka puppy), his friend, Weston (aka biker boy), his cousin, Will (aka little lamb) and his cousin, Dellie (aka bigger lamb)

Tucker and Will were very interested in Weston's puzzle

Austin, the scarecrow, the joined the group!

Tucker wants in on the puzzle!

On Sunday, Ems, Tucker and I drove down to Milwaukee where we met Jess for lunch. Having been friends for almost 28 years now, we cherish these moments (even if they're short) together where we can laugh and catch up!
On the road...

Tucker loves his "aunts"!

Jess drove Ems to the airport and Tucker and I headed home.  What an awesome weekend catching up with my dear childhood friends!!

On actual Halloween, we dressed Tucker up in the monkey suit again (Jared didn't get to see him in it yet). We took a few pictures outside and then Tucker helped Jared pass out candy to the trick or treaters.
Tucker sported his very adorable jack-o-lantern shirt at the babysitter's on Halloween

On the move...

Check out this roly poly baby...

New tricks!

Check out his 2 new tricks! Clicking his tongue is something he discovered a couple of days ago and I've been working with Tucker on giving "high fives."  He really just gets excited and grabs your hand, but I consider this a high five. ;)

6 months!

Tucker was officially 6 months old on September 24th! This has probably been the fastest 1/2 year of my life. We visited the doctor for his appointment. The doctor said he seemed perfectly healthy and was impressed at how well he is sitting up already! Here are his stats:

Weight: 19 lbs 7 oz (80%)

Height: 26 3/4 inches (58%)

Head circumference: 17.68 inches (79%)

Other info:

-sleeping:  it's official: he isn't sleeping through the night. It's taken a while for me to admit this out loud.  I had a lot of excuses and reasons for why he's been waking up and now I'm just stumped.  All last week he had a cold and still has a bit of a cough. I think he might be teething but I'm not totally sure.  The dr. said she didn't feel any teeth.  Every night I go to bed, I'm hopeful that he might not wake up till 5:30 or 6 and usually that doesn't happen.  I try really hard not to feed him so he doesn't get used to it, but when he's been up talking and making noises for an hour and then starts crying and we need sleep so we can be awake for work, I feed him so we can all go back to sleep.  Who knows? Maybe tonight he won't wake up....

-eating: we've started to introduce solids.  So far, he loves everything! He's tried bananas, acorn squash, sweet potatoes, applesauce, avocadoes, and rice cereal.  Right now, he eats 2 cubes at night around 6.  I'm thinking in the next couple of weeks we'll start feeding him more food in the morning.  I've been making all his food (except rice cereal) and I'm really enjoying doing it. It's so easy (much easier than cooking for Jared and I!!).  I just buy produce, steam it, puree it, and freeze it in cubes.  We have lots of frozen food so it makes it really easy to feed him!

-playing: he loves to play! He can sit up now and really interacts with all his toys.  He loves to roll around. He grabs everything and passes things between his hands and in his mouth.  He's so fun to play with!

Smiling big for the camera...

...until he noticed the sign.

Thisf photo shoot ended quickly when he started eating the paper:
